Summary	This study deals with written clinical practice guidelines’ impact on emergency physicians adherence to national guidelines on the basis of two examples and examines the standards’ acceptance by the physicians and their self-assessment. Furthermore the standards’ effect on clinical parameters such as the patients’ blood pressure, heart rate and saturation is discussed.
